BLAAT

blt with avocado and alfalfa sprouts

Yep, BLAAT. And we’re not talking about the Russian curse word here.

We are talking about the sandwich that will break hearts. One bite of this and you’ll never go back to those soggy peanut butter and jelly monstrosities.

Sure the BLT has been around forever, but my take on it is completely new (as far as I know of course).

What I wouldn’t give for one of these sandwiches right now.

Any guesses as to the double A’s in the name?

Avocado and alfalfa sprouts.

A match made in heaven.

And they’ll make the sandwich healthier. Who could ask for anything more?

So crisp up that bacon, slather that toasted fresh bread with mayo and pile on the avocados, tomatoes, lettuce and alfalfa. Got some fresh basil handy? Toss that into the mix too.

Best sandwich of 2012 hands down (perhaps even of my of life).

I knew that the one “A” was avocado (which I adore), but I was totally surprised by the second “A”. Now I feel foolish that I never thought of it before, it’s such a great addition to a much beloved sandwich.

Can you not buy the ingredients to make one of these in the location you currently reside (sort of) in? I once saw a guacamole that included bacon and blue cheese crumbles. Wow, I love avocado!

Since we usually stay in hostels while traveling there really isn’t even a kitchen or fridge we have access to so making a sandwich would be difficult! I think we will try to rent apartments soon and that will allow me to make all kinds of things! Wow that guacamole sounds amazing! Have not seen a single avocado in China or Vietnam so far but keeping an eye out!

Bacon and avocado….killer combo! Great picture of the sandwich too, very nicely staged with the green placemat and green background.
