In case you haven’t noticed already, I love food. Like am obsessed with food. Nothing (ok, well almost nothing) makes me happier than looking at pictures of delicious food.
I know, it’s strange.
But it really does bring my such joy to see photos of incredible food that I can’t wait to get my hands on and make myself. And since I know I love to waste time by looking at pictures of food and day dreaming about kitchen adventures, perhaps you do too?
And so, starting this Friday I’m bringing a new series to the blog. Meet – Friday Foodie Fakves, where every Friday I will share 10 food blog recipes that I have discovered in the past week and simply love.
My super disorganized scatterbrained system of categorizing the recipes I find is to simply send myself an email with the recipe link and ‘make at home’ written in the title.
I have 70 pages worth of emails in my gmail titled “make at home” So instead of just keeping all these recipe discoveries to myself I am now going to share them with you every Friday!
That way perhaps you too will find some recipes you would love to try, or perhaps stumble upon a new food blog to follow.
Lemon Artichoke Mayonnaise {Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free}
I have always wanted to make my own mayonnaise from scratch and it’s definitely on my to-do list and when I do make it I’m going to spice it up with bit with herbs and artichoke hearts – love this idea!
Carrot Cake Energy Bites {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
I’m not big of sweets, especially cake but I do enjoy the occasional slice of carrot cake (about once ever few years to be exact) but these healthy and refined sugar free energy balls sound like the perfect alternative to the traditional unhealthy dessert.
Vegan Carrot Cake with Macadamia Frosting {Vegan}
Since the carrot cake energy balls from above are missing a frosting, I’m going to pair those with a bowl of this vegan macadamia frosting to really make you feel like you’re having a full on carrot cake turned healthy.
Tomato Free Marinara Sauce {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
Who knew you could make a marinara sauce tomato free? I’m intrigued.
Coconut Yogurt {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
Another fascinating one. I had never even heard of coconut yogurt and since I’m trying to cut back on the dairy intake I would love to give this a shot. Think it tastes anything like regular yogurt?
Kale Salad Bowl with Tahini Dressing {Gluten-Free} (omit feta for dairy free)
I love full meal quinoa bowls that are filled with different ingredients that pack in a lot of flavor and this Kale salad bowl with sweet potatoes, chickpeas and quinoa sounds perfect.
Thai Pineapple Pizza {Dairy-Free}
This pizza remind me of my high school days when my friend and I would head over to CPK for lunch after school. I know a lot of people don’t like CPK but I loved the variety of the pizzas theres and love the Thai flair in this one. Particularly awesome is that there’s no cheese or dairy involved — the base is made with coconut milk, peanut butter and soy sauce, and there’s no need for a sprinkling of cheese when you’ve got pineapple. YUM.
Sausage and Sweet Potato Stuffed Portabello {Gluten-Free} (omit Parmesan for dairy free)
I am seriously obsessed with this recipe. I generally always do the same thing for breakfast; soft boiled eggs with avocados and perhaps a sprinkling of alfalfa sprouts or smoked salmon here and there, but these breakfast stuffed mushrooms caps seriously sound a-mazing to me. I need to make this asap.
Sausage and Sweet Potato Hash with Baked Eggs {Gluten-Free} (omit Parmesan for dairy free)
Very similar to the last recipe but without the stuffed mushrooms and baked all together instead of in single serving portions. Roasted sweet potatoes + chicken sausage + herbs + eggs sounds like the best breakfast/brunch ever to me right now.
Lentil and Vegetable Stew with Cauliflower White Bean Puree {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
I love that this lentil stew is served over a cauliflower and white bean puree. I’ve made cauliflower mash before, but never with white beans and am excited to try this. Seems like a great vegan hearty meal for a cold day.
All photos are from the bloggers themselves, and each title links to the recipe on the blog.

Thanks for sharing my recipe! I hope you get a chance to try it 🙂 It is tart like yogurt with a milk coconut flavor. My four year old prefers it to dairy yogurt 🙂
