This golden berry granola will be your new go to breakfast or snack. Sweet and tart and packed full of flavors from oats, sunflower seeds, coconut flakes, nuts, chia seeds and the one and only magical golden berry.
So remember how I was telling you that I have been obsessed with granola, both mix and bars?
And have been dreaming up all sorts of granola combination and scribbling granola recipe combinations in my imaginary notebook?
Well finally, finallyyyyy I have made my first batch of granola!
Cue fireworks going off in my head.
Seriously I shouldn’t be getting this excited about my super food golden berry granola.
But I am. I mean how could I not be? I have just recently discovered that granola might just be the best snack of all time. Awesome both with yogurt and without.
I mean it’s just so crispy and crunchy, and cinnamony, with a tart burst of freeze dried golden berries here and there to make your eyes really pop in gastronomic surprise.
I’ve got to make up for all those years of granola-free living. There were a solid 25 of them.
Now I’m going to make up for lost time.
When I made this superfood golden berry granola recipe, I was simply too impatient to wait for it to cool, so in between burst of finger burning pain, I was crunching and munching on on this batch of ever so slightly sweet and tart granola mix.
Have you met the freeze dried golden berry yet? Well you really must. This Colombia fruit is my new favorite superfood. These little bundles of color are super high in antioxidants and have cancer, kidney and liver protective effects while also modulating immune function, lowering blood sugar and countering bacteria.
Bam, how’s that for a super power of a berry.
And top that off with just plain delicious. In a tart way of course. It may be too much for some people, but for me the flavor is just perfect.
A refreshing burst of flavor, you’ll be surprised when you bite into one of these freeze fried parcels of goodness .
.
That’s how I’m going to think of them from now on — little bites of joy. These have yet to real the popularity of the famous goji berries and the newly established chia superfood, but just wait, these golden berries will be next.
And you’ll be thanking me if you get on board asap and start buying these up — who knows, they might even run out of them in stores and then you’ll really be depriving yourself.

They are delicious (fresh)! They are sweet but not too sweet, tart but not too tart. Once you try one you definitely want another! So good!!!

What do the golden berries taste like? I cannot stand the taste of acai berries, unfortunately. I like goji berries though.
Vicky says
I’ve never had acai berries – though I have had the juice which does taste a bit chalky to me. I lime goji berries but I might even like the freeze dried golden berries even more. They’re very tart, with a hint of sweetness. I love that sour tart aspect to them, but I think some people might not. Worth a try either way : ))
