With the beginning of fall now is the time to get into fall themed recipes. With Thanksgiving less than a week away I’m sure everyone has Thanksgiving dinner on the mind already. With the turkey as the centerpiece from there the cooking creativity goes towards the side dishes. There is an endless variety of Thanksgiving sides but here I’d like to share ten that have recently intrigued me.

Cranberry Clementine Sauce {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
There’s really no reason to buy the canned sliceable jelly-esque cranberry sauce when you can easily make your own from scratch at home. Love the idea of adding clementines and cloves to the sauce to soften up the flavor a bit.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Fried Figs {Gluten-Free}
I’ve just recently come around to love sweet potatoes but I’ve always been a huge fan of figs, prosciutto and goat cheese so I know this dish is bound to be a hit, especially with a slight drizzle of a fig balsamic vinegar
Honey Roasted Butternut Squash with Cranberries and Feta {Gluten-Free, Vegetarian}
I love oven roasted squash and with lightly tart dried cranberries and a sharp feta with a little bit of honey and cinnamon for extra flavor, this sounds like a great side dish.
Cranberry Apple Freekeh Stuffing {Vegan}
I have yet to try freekeh, which I have heard is the new superfood – essentially roasted green wheat this can be similar in cooking to using rice, quinoa, etc, but I am very intrigued by the name itself so would love to try this as a stuffing recipe for the holidays.
Thankgsiving Kale {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
I need to start adding more kale into my daily diet and this light kale salad with cranberries, almonds, garlic and dijon mustard sounds like a perfect way to get in more of this superfood veggie
Green Bean Bacon Bundles {Gluten-Free}
I’m a fan of green beans by themselves but when they’re wrapped in bacon and drizzled with a mustard vinaigrette and baked, well that might just make them completely irresistible.
Apple Sausage Stuffing {can be Gluten-Free}
I’ve never made stuffing with sausage but love the idea of adding some chicken sausage into the mix. I’m sure it would be delicious with the apples, cranberries and walnuts in this recipe.
Rosemary Butternut Squash Skillet Pie {Vegetarian}
I’ve never made a pie before, and can’t say I’ve ever really been tempted to, but something about this butternut squash skiller pie instantly caught my eye. I would love to try to make this gluten-free with a gf flour blend and dairy free with coconut milk used in place of the regular milk and cream. Sounds delicious!
Pumpkin Polenta Chips {Gluten-Free}
I love all kinds of chips so cannot wait to try make pumpkin polenta chips. I imagine these would be a hit and make for a healthier snack than the standard fried bagged chips. Love the addition of pumpkin into the mix!
Kabocha Squash Quinoa Bake with Brussels Sprouts and Pancetta
I never buy kabocha squash, but this recipe has inspired me to. Love the combination here of the squash with the quinoa, pancetta, Parmesan and Fontina cheeses, and panko breadcrumbs. This sounds absolutely incredible.
