My Brita water filter bottle review – the Brita Sport Water Filter Bottle makes it really better having your own proper water bottle that you can refill at every convenience.
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Brita, but all opinions in this Brita water filter bottle review are my own. #pmedia #BritaOnTheGo http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I love water. Absolutely love water. Aside from alcohol and coffee it is just about the only other beverage I drink. I always have a bottle of water with me everywhere I go, and couldn’t imagine being without it.
Once I got on a four hour bus from New York to Boston and upon searching through my bag realized I didn’t have a bottle of water with me. Serious devastation hit, and I barely made it off that bus. I was so thirsty and literally staring at all the people around me on the bus with water with desperate eyes. Longest bus journey of my life. I will never make that same mistake again.
Buying plastic water bottles is no good for the environment though so it really is a much better choice to have your own proper water bottle than you can refill at every convenience.
Even better if that water bottle has a built in filter, like the Brita Sport Water Filter Bottle, which I have just recently acquired and love.
I’m not a big fan of just drinking water straight from the tap (probably coming from growing up in a town that historically has had problems with the water plant) so if I’m drinking tap water I much prefer to filter it first.
So when I was given this opportunity to do a Brita water filter bottle review, I thought why not?
With the Brita on the go water bottles the filter is built right in so you can literally fill up from the tap, water fountain, you name it.
Over the years my boyfriend Dave and I had done a lot of traveling (think 32 countries over the course of 2 years) and one consistent factor is that it is critical to stay hydrated.
On several occasions while traveling in South East Asia Dave got severely dehydrated, which is a condition that brings on hangover like symptoms which can last weeks.
From the intense heat and humidity, with him not hydrating properly he quickly got dehydrated and had to pay the price for days.
With my intense love affair with water this thankfully never happened to me. But for all those planning trips or heading out anywhere this summer I strongly urge you to always carry a filled up water bottle with you.
As long as you carry a water bottle with you that will be the mental cue to remind you to drink up. Generally it is said that you should drink eight glasses of water a day, though this can vary depending on your body, and the environment you were in. And of course for every cup of coffee or alcoholic drink you should have an extra glass to offset the effects.
This is a great strategy to prevent getting hungover as well — I always drink a full glass of water for every single glass of wine/beer, etc. Seems to help every time!
Just a few months ago when Dave and I were hopping around the national parks in Utah doing intense hiking we were drinking way more than that.
While in certain parts of the world tap water is not recommended for drinking, in most of Europe, North America and Australia it is safe to drink the tap water so when you are traveling to these parts your Brita Sports bottle will be your new best friend.
Paying for water bottles quickly adds up – if you’re purchasing 500 ml water bottles you will need to buy four of those a day – which can cost up to $5 daily depending where you are buying from.
With the Brita Sport Water bottle you can literally save yourself over a hundred dollars a month by simply filling up from water fountains and taps all over.
From doing this Brita water filter bottle review, I have found that with a filtration device at your fingertips this will be a constant reminder to keep drinking water and stay hydrated.
Some tips for increasing your water intake:
- any time you pass by a water fountain turn this into a game, of fill up your Brita Sport water bottle
- for every alcoholic drink or coffee that you have, drink half of your Brita Sport water bottle to offset the dehydrating effects
- always have your Brita Sport water bottle out on the table when you’re eating. This will serve as a visual reminder to keep drinking throughout your meal
- In your house leave the Brita Sport water bottle close to the front door, so that when you’re running out it will be the last thing you see and remind you to bring it with you
- When you’ve got your pajamas on, first think you should do in the morning and last thing you do at night is drink a glass of water.
The Brita Sport water bottle holds 20 ounces and is BPA free, and can be found in the hardware section of your local Walmart store (where I bought mine) for the low price of $9.99. The water bottle has a convenient carrying loop that you can clip on to your backpack, purse, etc, as well as an easy to drink spout and soft squeeze plastic.
I hope my Brita water filter bottle review has helped. Next time you’re considering purchasing bottled water, make the investment in the Brita Sport water bottle instead, so you can have a reusable bottle with filtered water without the cost and waste that single use plastic water bottles create.
