Here I’ve compiled a list of delicious cold Gluten free soups from fellow food bloggers around the web. Summer time is chilled soup time!
We’re switching things up a bit here. Instead of the usual Friday Foodie Faves where I share my 10 favorite recipe finds from fellow food bloggers, now I’m switched over to themed posts.
With the beginning of fall now is the time to get into fall themed recipes. The past couple weeks I shared 10 Gluten Free Pumpkin Desserts, 10 Fall Apple Desserts, 10 Fall Sweet Potato Recipes, 10 Cauliflower Recipes, and this week the theme is cold gluten free soups.
Summer time is the perfect weather for a chilled refreshing soup. Now generally you associate winter and hot with the words soup, but that does not have to be the case, especially with so many incredible soups that are delicious served cold. My all time favorite cold soup is of course the Spanish gazpacho. I first tried this soup while studying abroad in Madrid in 2009. My home stay family would prepare this frequently and I instantly fell in love. Luckily I was able to get my senora’s family recipe for the gazpacho that she always made so this recipe can forever be recreated by me.

Creamy Vegan Gazpacho {Gluten-Free, Vegan}
I absolutely love gazpacho and my home stay family in Spain used to always make it for me while I was studying abroad there so it always brings up happy memories. Make this with gluten-free bread for a gluten-free version.
Classic Vichyssoise Soup {Gluten-Free}
An onion, potato and leek soup that is creamy thanks to the addition of butter and heavy cream. A perfect cold soup.
White Gazpacho Cold Soup {Gluten-free, Vegan}
Instead of the traditional tomato based gazpacho this one is made without them, instead using bread, almonds, cucumber, as the main ingredients for the base of the soup. I’m intrigued!
Refreshing Pea Soup with Mint and Lemon {Gluten-free, Vegan}
A soup that embraces the freshness of peas, spinach, arugula and mint. So many fresh flavors this soup just screams summer to me.
Cold Beet Borscht {Gluten-Free}
Being Russian borsch is a soup that is very familiar to me, though always in the hot version. This borscht with a bit of a modern twist is instead served cold and is made with eggs.
Garden Green Gazpacho {Gluten-free, Vegan}
I love that this soup blends together broiled poblano pepper with avocado, cucumber, radish, onions, shallots and cilantro. So many delicious and refreshing flavors all in one!
Chilled Avocado And Cucumber Soup {Gluten-free, Vegan}
This heavily cucumber based soup also includes avocado, scallions, cilantro, basil and mint. Got to love the use of all those fresh herbs! If you love cucumber, this may soon become your favourite of all cold gluten free soups.
Okroshka Cold Summer Soup {Gluten-Free}
Okroshka is a traditional Russian soup that I first tried in St Petersburg when visiting my great aunt in 2002. She made it for me on a super hot Russian summer day and I loved it, so it has always stayed close to my heart. The version I had was made with Kvas (a Russian carbonated drink) but as this recipes states you could also use Kefir (though I highly recommend it with Kvas!)
Hungarian Chilled Apricot and Peach Soup {Gluten-Free}
Unlike the other cold gluten free soups on this list, this one is more of a sweet soup made with peaches, water, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and lemon zest. I would love to try to make this vegan by using coconut cream in place of the heavy cream. YUM!
Cold and Creamy Spanish Tomato Soup {Gluten-free, Vegan}
The base for this creamy soup is tomatoes, garlic, cashews and onions. I love the idea of whirring all of those together in a blender, imagining the depth of flavor that the processed cashews add. Love this soup! This reminds me of a soup I had in Spain last summer.
