Never know what to gift people? Or is that just me? I normally get ideas throughout the year based on small details that people will share, about their favorite this and that and I always vow to write it all down and purchase those things as gifts for the holidays.
Then the year flies by and I find myself in mid December without a clue as to what gifts to get for everyone in my life. This holiday gift guide is meant to help you out when choosing gifts for the people in your life. These are some of my favorite kitchen items from the past year, food based items, and other miscellaneous things which I think would make great presents for the people close to you!
Fun Gifts:
Fujifilm Instax Camera: Think polaroid camera. These are so fun at all family gatherings and parties and make for a perfect fun holiday gift. An added bonus is that literally everyone looks amazing in the photos!
Mixology Kit: We bought one of these when we moved into our apartment and it’s been a fun way to make all sorts of cocktails and have great little gadgets for our bar cart.
Animal Shaped Wine Aerator: A fun animal shaped wine aerator. You can choose from bear, deer, dog, horse and pig. A fun stocking stuffer!
Elegant Portable Collapsible Wine Glass: Another great stocking stuffer for the wine lover in your life! Who says you can’t easily travel with a nice looking wine glass? I brought this on a recent trip to Europe and couldn’t be happier sipping my wine out of this portable wine glass instead of a plastic cup.
Bathroom Sink Apron: A perfect stocking stuffer for the men in your life. It drives me crazy when my husband gets hair all over the bathroom and this nifty little apron solves all the problems!
Bose Wireless Headphones: I got these as a gift last year for the holidays and absolutely love them. I literally don’t leave the house without them.
Food Based Gifts:
Vital Proteins Marine Collagen: I started taking marine collagen recently for my hair, skin and nails and love it! While it’s pricey it’s one of my favorite daily supplements that I add into my coffee.
David’s Tea – For all the tea lovers out there you are in good hands with David’s Tea. My cousin in Canada first introduced me to this company a couple years back and since then I have sampled dozens of their various flavors. There are tons of flavors to choose from and they are currently running a buy 2 get 1 free special. A sampler pack would make a great gift!
MUD/WTR – I recently found out about these organic morning beverage mixes packed full of superfood ingredients and I cannot wait to try them myself. I know I want these as a gift, so perhaps the health conscious foodie in your life does too?
A set of Vegan cheeses – I have recently started purchasing vegan cheeses and am seriously in love. A gift basket of various cheeses from different companies would make a great present for the vegan foodie in your life. Even the cheese lovers will never know that these are completely dairy free! Some of my favorite vegan cheese brands include: Treeline, Follow Your Heart, Miyokos, and Daiya. You can find these at Whole Foods, Wegman’s specialty stores or online. The most sophisticated and posh cheeses I have tried have been the Miyokos – who have a variety of different flavors.
Pretoxx – For the heavy drinkers in your life, this is the ultimate hangover prevention (that helps me every time). A perfect gag gift or stocking stuffer for those who like to have a few too many drinks around the holiday season! I have told all my friends about this and know that they have already made their purchases!
Cricket Flour: Surprise someone in your life with this exotic adventurous cricket flour! We add it into our protein shakes and I’ve used it to make protein bars – I love it!
Kitchen Gifts:
Mini Teapot (18 oz): I love this mini teapot that’s perfect for making loose leaf tea for one. I drink tea every single night so this is perfect for all the tea lovers in your life!
Cast Iron Skillet: I just bought one of these and love love love the sear that I get on anything I cook in it! It also doubles as a serious kitchen weapon since it’s about 400 pounds.
Global Knives – I was first introduced to the magic of Global knives when I was running a catering business and ever since then I’ve been hooked. These knives are incredible and at $70-80 per knife are a truly great investment.
Brieftons 5 Blade Spiralizer – Currently on sale for $28.99 this is an awesome kitchen tool that I just recently treated myself too and I am not obsessed. Before for all those lighter low carb healthier meals in the new year!
Le Creuset Automatic Wine Bottle Opener – This is a pricier gift option at $94.95 but absolutely the wine bottle opener my parents swear by. They have gifted this to friends in the past and everyone loved it.
Garject Garlic Press – The ultimate garlic press that is easy to use and clean. No need to even peel the garlic cloves! Anyone who cooks a lot with garlic needs a solid and sturdy garlic press and this is the one I’m currently loving!
Set of Stainless Steel Drinking Straws: No more plastic straws! Gift these to the smoothie lover in your life!
Books:
Homo Deus: My husband got me this book for the holidays last year and I absolutely loved it. A serious and somewhat heavy read but fascinating if you’re interested in the future of humanity and AI.
Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: After watching the Netflix show I decided to buy this book and I’ve been loving it. It breaks down the essence of mastering the world of cooking by understand the four key elements of salt, fat, acid and heat.
The Flavor Bible: A classic with over 1200 reviews on Netflix, this is not so much a cookbook but more a foodie textbook with ideas for pairing ingredients together. A great book to reference when you’re trying to experiment in the kitchen and come up with new recipes.
Minimalist Baker’s Everyday Cooking: I love the Minimalist Baker blog and wanted to have her cookbook in the kitchen with me too. This is made of entirely of plant based recipes so is perfect for the vegan in your life, or anyone who wants to get more out of plant based eating.
Nom Nom Paleo: Food For Humans: I am equally as interested in paleo cooking as I am in vegan cooking so I just had to have this cookbook too. I’ve made a few chicken recipes already and they were amazing — especially the flavorful and fragrant marinades and sauces.
Thirst: A book by the founder and CEO of the non profit: Water – every purchase unlocks a $30 donation to the charity itself, so you give someone the book and a donation in their name!
Wellness Gifts:
Five Minute Journal: My husband got this hardcover journal for me last year and I have loved writing in it daily. It focused on gratitude specifically and starting and ending your day by writing down three things you are grateful for and three things that went well. I think this is incredibly important in terms of starting the day on the right foot and is a perfect gift for anyone.
Headspace: This is a mobile meditation app with both free guided meditation and a monthly or yearly subscription. I’ve been using it for a few years now and love the guided meditation and the voice behind them. Perfect for getting focused, helping you sleep, etc.
The Miracle Morning: This is a book that is all about starting you day with the perfect morning routine that consists of six ten minute exercises. I have stuck to this in the past for months at a time and it made a huge difference in my mindset and work ethic. A great read!
