Today we’re talking probiotics – namely probiotic snacks in the form of prune energy balls. Now, before this my main form of probiotics was either in pill form, yogurt, kombucha or kimchi. But now, thanks to Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes (which you can find at your local Walmart) I can get a prebiotic + probiotic that supports overall wellness and digestive health that delivers active cultures 10 times more effectively than yogurt!
Are you as amazed as I am? Now I happen to love both kombucha and kimchi but I know plenty of people who cannot stand them, and honestly with all the different supplements and vitamins we need to take daily, pill fatigue is a real concern. It’s a great relief to know that I can now get my probiotics in the form of probiotic snacks instead with these Probiotic Prunes!
Mariani Probiotic Prunes, made with California grown prunes support overall wellness and digestive health. Mariani prunes are a prebiotic, which the probiotic needs to feed off of. Prunes also have additional vitamins that are great for your health & wellness. The Ganeden BC30 probiotic in Mariani Probiotic Prunes is unique. They are designed by nature to survive and thrive in conditions other probiotics cannot. By surviving, Ganeden BC30 delivers active probiotics ten times more effectively than the probiotics in yogurt. You can learn more about all the Probiotic Prune benefits here.
One important thing to remember is that you cannot cook with the probiotic prunes, as the probiotic properties will die off so you’ll want to incorporate them into your diet in raw form. A few great ways to do so is just eat them by the handful, add them to smoothie, sprinkle them over salads, or make probiotic snacks like these prune energy balls!
For these probiotic snacks you only need a few ingredients, namely, cacao powder, peanut butter, cinnamon, shredded coconut and hemp hearts.
You toss the probiotic prunes in the food processor with the cacao powder, peanut butter and cinnamon.
Give that a whirl on high until the mix is completely broken down into what looks like sticky crumbs.
Then, using your hands form these into bite sized balls and roll in hemp hearts of shredded coconut.
Take a bite and enjoy these probiotic snacks as an on the go snack, light dessert, or even healthy breakfast!
These probiotic snacks are so easy to make and you can easily keep them on hand in the freezer. Did I mention these are also vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free?!
Years ago I didn’t have the faintest clue about probiotics, but now having done my research I fully acknowledge the importance of keeping your gut healthy and the ways in which an unhealthy gut can wreck havoc on your entire body. Having spoken with friends and family who have suffered from gut issues due to prolonged antibiotic use I recognize the importance of maintaining a healthy gut flora and this is a daily priority for me. 70% of your body’s immune system is in your intestinal track so we must make keeping this part of the body healthy a top priority.
This summer take charge of your immune system and improve your gut health with a purchase of Probiotic Prunes at Walmart and other stores near you!
