A super simple gluten free apple crisp with a crunchy walnut graham cracker topping. Naturally Gluten Free + Dairy Free and can be made vegan. A perfect Fall dessert.

  • 3.5 cups peeled and cubed apples 5-6 small apples
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup walnuts crushed,
  • 1/2 cup gluten free graham crackers crushed (use vegan graham crackers for vegan version)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil solid, not liquid
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees C.
  2. In a bowl combine apples with lemon zest, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss.
  3. In a small bowl combine graham cracker crumbs with walnut crumbs and coconut oil. Mix.
  4. Place apple mix in oven safe cast iron skillet, or other oven safe cookware.
  5. Top with walnut graham cracker crumble.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Serve as is or top with vegan caramel sauce and melted dark chocolate chips (optional)
Recipe Notes

TO make vegan caramel sauce bring 1/4 cup coconut oil and 1/4 cup maple syrup to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons sunflower seed butter and mix until smooth for 1-2 minutes.
