Winter themed cranberry guacamole made with Avocados From Mexico is made with fresh diced cranberries for an extra pop of tart flavor. Drizzle in TABASCO® Sauce for an extra kick and serve alongside a cold RITAS for the perfect Big Game party celebration.
I am obsessed with avocados. I love them, need to have them in my life daily, and frequently travel with them to make sure I’m never caught off guard without an avocado nearby.
Naturally, I love the Avocados From Mexico since they’re healthy, delicious and always in season – I pretty much can’t ask for anything more. And they happen to be perfectly creamy without too high of a water content, making them the perfect guacamole avocado.
If you ask me guacamole is the ultimate versatile party dip/spread – it literally brings people together. As soon as the guac comes out people huddle around it immediately. I mean everyone just wants to savor winning flavors, right?
And that’s how people behave around regular guac – wait until they try my winter themed cranberry guac.
This recipe is inspired by my cousin’s girlfriend’s’ guac that she brought to my family New Years’ party last year. The cranberry guac was meant to shared by all 16 guests, but a select few of us (myself included) gobbled the whole large bowl of it in a matter of minutes (if not seconds).
I was amazed – it was amazing. The addition of fresh diced cranberries gave the guacamole an unbelievable refreshing burst of tart flavors as well as crunch; it was addicting. I couldn’t get enough and promised myself that I will make this cranberry guac recipe myself to share with others.
Now that we’ve got the crunch and tartness settled let’s talk heat. To give this cranberry guac a bit of a spicy kick I added both diced jalapeños as well as a splash of TABASCO® Sauce. TABASCO® Sauce happens to be my favorite ingredient to add a bit of spice and excitement to any meal. I love how it really accents and deepens flavors as an ingredient while being made of simple ingredients; red peppers, salt and vinegar. It just has a kick that I love and it works in guacamole as well as all sorts of other recipes that need some heat!
This cranberry guacamole also has some of the classic guacamole ingredients – cilantro and lime juice. Sometimes I like to add in a bit of diced onion for extra crunch, or a crushed clove of garlic for a stronger flavor, maybe even a spoonful of olive oil to blend everything together. And following my cousin’s girlfriend’s expert recipe a spoonful of sweetener really balances everything out.
This cranberry guacamole will be the perfect appetizer for a Big Game party. As I write this my husband is literally watching game highlights so football seems to be on the mind these days.
You simply cannot celebrate the Big Game without avocados present – I mean, doesn’t everyone watch the Big Game mostly for the Avocados From Mexico commercial?
Well, maybe not everyone, but that’s the highlight of the TV event for me! To further elevate the party mood you’ll need something fruity, fizzy and fun – aka a few cans of RITAS for the occasion. Lime-A-Rita happens to be the perfect accompanying flavor to my cranberry guac, and you can think of it as a classic Margarita with some added fun and none of the work.
If you’re hosting a Big Game party use your time making avocado centric appetizers instead of complicated custom cocktails.
Since we’re on the topic of celebratory moods I’m also happy to share that I’m hosting a giveaway in this post too!

Best of luck to everyone and even if your team doesn’t win the Big Game you have to chance to win big here and you’ll have gained this cranberry guacamole in your life! This recipe only required a handful of ingredients but is sure to be the party show stopper.
The best thing about guacamole is the endless variations and alterations that you can make to it to adjust it to your preferred taste. If you want a spicier guac add more jalapeños or TABASCO® Sauce or omit both if you can’t handle the heat.
If you can’t find fresh cranberries, use frozen, or if you don’t like cranberries try using pomegranate ariels instead.
To add more crunch and depth feel free to add in some diced yellow or red onions as well as a smashed clove of garlic.
For more of a spread make sure the avocado is completely mashed/pureed, or if you prefer more of a salsa consistency cube the avocado instead of mashing it.
The possibilities are endless and as long as you’re having guac in one form or another I’m happy!
Please share your favorite guac variations in the comments below and let me know if you’ve ever tried cranberry guacamole!
