Five ingredient sweet, rich and smooth avocado truffles with honey and pistachios, tahini and cocoa powder. Simply irresistible and practically healthy. A guilt free treat. Gluten Free and Dairy Free too. No cook, ready in 15 minutes, 100 calories a truffle with only 3.4 grams of sugar!
I am in love with avocados. Literally cannot get enough of them and don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t eat them everyday. I mean every single day. While it may seem like I don’t post recipes with avocado all the times it doesn’t mean that I’m not eating it.
My daily breakfast is boiled eggs with avocados. Pretty much every day. Consistent and delicious. And then I’ll usually add avocado to a salad for lunch. And for dinner I’ll make an avocado sauce to drizzle on quinoa bowls, or make an avocado crema for tacos, you get the idea.
Avocado all day everyday. So it’s only natural that I feel the urge to start experimenting more with avocado desserts. Yep, the healthy and delicious avocado is perfect even in dessert recipes. Sounds a bit strange?
Trust me you won’t even know there’s an uber healthy avocado hidden in your sweet and chocolaty bite sized balls of heaven. I’ll tell ya, D had no idea these were avocado truffles.
I even gave him the hint that there was an ingredient included in the short list of five total ingredients that didn’t normally belong in a dessert.
He still didn’t get it. And even after I finally told him these were in fact avocado truffles, and he sampled another one – he still didn’t taste the avocado flavor. So have I convinced you yet?
Instead what you are going to taste is rich and deep flavors of the chocolate, tahini, Nektar honey crystals flavor. Remember my honey chocolate cashew truffles made with Nektar honey crystals?
Well the honey crystals are back for yet another delicious dessert truffle recipe. And these are Christmas themed with the strong green pistachio color showing itself off.
Aren’t pistachios the best? Second to cashews of course, but coming in at a close second for the best nut ever.
These rich and dense avocado truffles are perfectly complemented by the roasted and lightly salted crunchy textures of crushed pistachios. A real medley of flavors in your mouth.
And since it’s just past holiday season how about a giveaway?! Enter below to win your very own jar of Nektar Honey Crystals. This is a great product that I love to incorporate in my recipes – think honey in crystal form aka honey without the mess.

With such a name as yours I would have been shocked if you were not such a big avocado fan ;-p lol
But I’m with you: I loove avocados, in any form. So much, that I had it as my mission to convert Boyfriend to them as well: thankfully it wasn’t too hard, when he tasted that delicious creaminess of my homemade guacamole as well as the chocolate avocado pudding he became a die hard fan of the stuff. (He wouldn’t believe there was avocado in the pudding either as he couldn’t taste it, but since then he has made it himself so he knows the magic ingredient is avocado.)
Truth be told it’s the tahini I find surprising. With such a special flavour I haven’t seen it in any dessert recipe yet. Will have to try this recipe as it sounds exciting and delicious!
I’d love to use the honey crystals to make THIS recipe 😀
Vicky says
Haha yes definitely a HUGE avocado fan. And so glad you were able to convert your bf to be an avocado lover — it just would not do, if he wasn’t!! I have made avocado mousse before and also was super surprised how the avocado taste is completely masked! Tahini is great in desserts – it has a different flavor profile than nut butters but adds its own sense of nuttiness. Hope you get to try this recipe!
Kelly says
Honey without the sticky mess – sounds good. I’d use it in my tea, to make sweets, healthy bars, and anything else I could think of!
